Migration during a session

A Pump.fun token starts on its bonding curve and moves to a PumpSwap pool once the curve completes. A PumpCrate session handles that move on its own. You do not need to stop, restart or change anything.

What migration is#

Every standard Pump.fun token trades on a bonding curve until 793,100,000 tokens, the part of the supply sold on the curve, have been bought. At that point the curve is complete, roughly 85 SOL of real buys have gone in, and the token migrates: trading on the curve stops and the token trades in a PumpSwap pool from then on. Since March 2025 that pool has been on PumpSwap, Pump.fun's own exchange, rather than Raydium. The bonding curve reference shows where those numbers come from.

What the session does#

  1. While the token is on its curve, the session trades on the curve.
  2. The session watches the curve. When it completes, trading on the curve is no longer possible.
  3. The session switches to the token's PumpSwap pool and keeps spending the volume it has left there.
  4. Its status stays Running throughout, and progress continues from where it was.

There is no extra charge for this and no new setup. It is part of every package.

Tokens that are already in a pool#

A session can also start on a token that migrated earlier. It trades in the PumpSwap pool from the beginning. Older Pump.fun tokens that migrated to Raydium before PumpSwap existed are supported as well.

What changes for you after migration#

  • The token appears on DexScreener and similar tools once it trades in a pool, so session trades become visible there too. See Checking trades on chain.
  • Price impact depends on the pool's reserves rather than the curve's, so the same trade size can move the price by a different amount. See Price impact and slippage.
  • Board activity continues on the Pump.fun token page as before.

Migration itself is done by the Pump.fun program, not by PumpCrate. A session can contribute buys that help a curve complete, but it does not trigger or guarantee migration. See What PumpCrate does not do.
